Q: WHAT IS THE FOCUS OF THE TRAINING AT TECHNIQUE JIU JITSU?
A: The focus of Technique Jiu Jitsu is to provide training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
for self defence, the original purpose of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
In doing so Technique Jiu Jitsu gives the student a complete picture of
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Studying in detail, technique for common assault scenarios
and more advanced technique designed to deal with the skilled opponent.
Q: WHAT IF ANYTHING MAKES TECHNIQUE JIU JITSU DIFFERENT TO
THE OTHER BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU SCHOOLS OUT THERE?
A: Our method is the factor that makes us unique. We not only have the right
techniques for the vast array of situations that commonly happen in real
fights. We are able to teach them in a way that makes sense.
Our curriculum is structured and complete, each class has a lesson plan that
makes the techniques easy to absorb. The ratio of drilling technique to
sparring exercises are in the correct balance. Allowing the synergy between
the right reactions to an assault scenario and the problem solving ability
required to survive a real life situation to not only exist, but thrive in each
student.
Q: BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU IS ONLY GROUND WORK RIGHT?
A: Wrong! Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as it is practiced at Technique Jiu Jitsu
embraces the fact that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a complete martial arts system
dealing with both the standing and grounded elements of self defence.
Beware, many say that they teach all aspects of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but by
accident or design conveniently leave out the self defence and standing
elements, leaving only an incomplete interpretation of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We
urge you to make a point of learning the entire story that is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu,
even if you don’t choose us!
Q: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JAPANESE AND BRAZILIAN
JIU JITSU?
A: Put simply, the Brazilian interpretation of Jiu Jitsu is the most advanced,
comprehensively tested and up to date form of the “gentle art” in existence
today. Not bound by tradition but driven by the truth of combat as it exists in
modern times.
